Poto-Poto is an awareness-raising campaign about child rights and young people’s problems in Africa, which was launched by Plan and AURA (Artistes United for African Rap) in July 2006.
The project is based on an album focused on child rights called "The extraordinary stories of the Poto-Poto children".
This concept album is the sound track of a musical, which takes place in the Poto-Poto market. In this market is home to children from different social backgrounds and cultures. Their paths cross in the Poto-Poto market and they tell each other and the adults they meet their stories.
The Poto-Poto project concerts are the staging for these extraordinary meetings through which we discover the problems of African children. Video clips will support the promotion of the album and prepare concert tours, which will be done as a caravan travelling through several countries.
Video clips (one of which "Bienvenue à Poto-Poto" came out in 2007), a film of the musical, a book and a website will support the project’s marketing campaign.
